NOW-NYC’s annual gala honors exemplary women who have boldly forged their way to the top of their industries, breaking barriers along the way, and earning the title of pioneer and role model. Each year we gather to celebrate these extraordinary women working in business, finance, entrepreneurship, technology, law and government.
Meet Our 2017 Honorees
Michelle H. Browdy, Senior Vice President, Legal & Regulatory Affairs and General Counsel, IBM
Michelle H. Browdy, IBM’s General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Legal and Regulatory Affairs, leads IBM’s global legal, security, privacy, compliance, environmental, government and regulatory affairs functions. Previously, she served as Secretary to IBM’s Board of Directors and headed IBM’s worldwide litigation, overseeing IBM’s intellectual property, antitrust/competition, employment, class action, securities and commercial litigation globally.
Ms. Browdy, a Board Director of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, was previously a partner of Kirkland & Ellis LLP, a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Illinois, and an Adjunct Professor at Northwestern University School of Law.
Geraldine Buckingham, Senior Managing Director, Global Head of Corporate Strategy, BlackRock
Geraldine Buckingham, Senior Managing Director, is Global Head of Corporate Strategy at BlackRock and a member of the firm’s Global Executive Committee. She is responsible for helping BlackRock develop and implement long-term goals and respond to the competitive financial services landscape. She previously served as Head of Americas Corporate Strategy. Prior to joining BlackRock in 2014, Dr. Buckingham was a partner with McKinsey & Company focused on global asset management, wealth management and private equity, as well as strategy and organization. Dr. Buckingham is a Rhodes scholar and earned her Master of Philosophy degree in Comparative Social Policy at Oxford. She earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degrees from Monash University.
Leslie Dukker Doty, Executive Vice President, Consumer Marketing and Revenue, Time. Inc.
Leslie Dukker Doty is Executive Vice President of Consumer Marketing and Revenue at Time Inc. Doty is charged with facilitating the acceleration of consumer revenue growth and energizing Time Inc.’s brand franchises. She is a member of the company’s executive leadership team.
A transformative executive, Doty has created competitive differentiation, contributing to enterprise value for some of the largest Fortune 500 institutions globally. Doty is recognized as a thought leader in developing consumer-centric strategies and award- winning marketing campaigns that drive business growth and revenue. Prior to joining Time Inc., Doty served as Chief Marketing Officer of Trusted Media Brands and held executive positions at CVS Health, MasterCard Worldwide, SunTrust Bank and Citibank.
Michelle McCloskey, President, Man Americas and Man FRM
Michelle McCloskey is President of Man Americas, President of Man FRM, and serves on Man Group’s Executive Committee. Man Group was founded in 1783 and is the largest publicly traded hedge fund company in the world.
Ms. McCloskey oversees key strategic relationships and leads the Managed Account Lifecycle team, one of the largest hedge fund managed account platforms globally. Previously, she served as Head of Manager Research at FRM and Head of the Commodities and New Alternatives at Man Group’s multi-manager business.
Ms. McCloskey, who graduated with a degree in chemical engineering, earned her reputation for excellence in investment management as a portfolio manager with over twenty years of experience in commodities, asset management and alternative investments, and an extensive history of team and project buildouts.
Davia Temin, President & CEO, Temin and Company
As President and CEO of Temin and Company, Ms. Temin has distinguished herself as a trusted advisor on reputation and crisis management, and executive leadership coach to many of the world’s greatest organizations and leaders. A nationally recognized thought leader and expert, Ms. Temin is a widely sought after strategist and has appeared on CBS, Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal, and other national networks around the world. Her column, “Reputation Matters,” is featured on Forbes.com. She also writes for the Huffington Post and the American Banker, and she is currently writing a book on crisis management. Her work transforming the way organizations do business carries over to her personal life: Ms. Temin continues to be awarded for her work in empowering women and girls globally.
Ms. Temin founded Temin and Company in 1997, leading a team of New York’s top tacticians and subject matter experts who combine the highest levels of interdisciplinary expertise. Temin and Company is recognized for its unassailable strategy across every medium.
Marinela Tudoran, Managing Director, Credit Suisse
Marinela Tudoran is a Managing Director in Credit Suisse’s Global Markets Technology division, based in New York. She is the Global Head of Electronic Trading and Cash Equities Technology. Under Ms. Tudoran’s leadership, Credit Suisse has built and sustained one of Wall Street’s most competitive electronic trading platforms, including the leading Advanced Execution Services suite and CrossFinder, one of the world’s largest Alternative Trading Systems.
As a global technology leader within the firm, she oversees a team of technologists based in New York, London, Singapore and several other hubs. Ms. Tudoran has also led the way in supporting women’s advancement and career progression. Within Credit Suisse, she has been a longstanding sponsor of the IT Women’s Council championing diversity and inclusion. She also serves as co-president of the Women’s Bond Club, established in 1921 as New York’s first organization to focus on women in finance.
Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Ms. Tudoran held R&D and product management positions at technology firms in Romania and Japan.
