Legislators: Update NY Laws for Women
Make WEA Law by December 31
Measures that would advance equality and improve the lives of women and their families are waiting for further action by our New York State legislature. If legislators don’t act by December 31st, the women of our state will lose.
The Women’s Equality Agenda is a comprehensive set of measures that will tackle inequality and discrimination and strengthen our laws on sex trafficking, domestic violence, pay equity, pregnancy and other forms of workplace discrimination, sexual harassment, fair housing access, and reproductive health. What WEA Would Do
Act now and call on your legislators to find a way to make the Women’s Equality Agenda law now.
My name is ____ and I live [your neighborhood/city/town]. I’m disappointed that none of the provisions of the Women’s Equality Agenda have become law. Women continue to stand strong in the face of workplace discrimination and violence, and we need our elected leaders to stand strong with us. I’m asking you to take action this year to secure laws for women’s equality. We need laws as strong as New York women.
