Get Your Birth Control
It’s important to know the way access to birth control and abortion could change under Trump.
Trump has stated that he is considering keeping elements of the ACA, like children staying covered under their parents’ health insurance until 26 and no denial of coverage based on pre-existing conditions. It’s unclear what exactly will happen to birth control coverage, but it’s important to keep in perspective that it will take time.
It’s best to make sure you’re covered (a lot of women are considering an IUD!) so that you don’t have to worry. Your health should come first always, regardless of what politician is in office.
Call your healthcare provider, insurance, and/or local Planned Parenthood (especially if you don’t have insurance!) to see how your current coverage might be affected, or how you can get covered ASAP.
