Get GENDA on the Senate Floor in New York State
Now that Trump is reversing protections for trans students, it’s clear we need strict state protections for the trans community and their rights.
GENDA (Gender Identity and Expression Non-Discrimination Act) would add gender expression and identity to the State Human Rights Law, protecting people from employment, housing, and education discrimination and expanding the categories for hate crimes in our state.
It’s time to call your Senators and tell them GENDA needs to be passed NOW to protect New Yorkers in the trans community.
Find out who your NYS Senator is here, and urge them to bring GENDA back to the Senate floor.
With Trump’s 100 days in office coming up, we need to make sure that New York is at the forefront of LGBTQ issues and protect LGBTQ New Yorkers from unlawful discrimination.
UPDATE: Unfortunately, GENDA failed to pass the Senate’s Committee on Investigations and Governmental Operations. This is a gross injustice and trans New Yorkers deserve the protections all other New Yorkers are given.
