Spitzer’s “Prostitution Scandal” Not a Victimless Crime
NOW-NYC and leading women’s rights advocates gathered to address ex-Governor Eliot Spitzer’s attempt to sweep his “prostitution scandal” under the rug in his efforts to run for citywide office. Spitzer violated laws designed to protect women from a multi-billion dollar industry that victimizes and abuses women and can lead to sex trafficking. While less powerful people are prosecuted for these crimes that prey on young women and girls, Spitzer is asking New Yorkers to reward him with public office.
