Mayoral Candidates Talk Women’s Rights
All Dems and Carrión Say They Are Feminists: Watch NOW!
NOW-NYC’s Mayoral Forum, hosted by Pace University, welcomed 600 women and men to learn how the candidates would make NYC a more equitable city. Candidates Bill de Blasio (D), Adolfo Carrión Jr., Joe Lhota (R), John Liu (D), Christine Quinn (D), and Bill Thompson (D) discussed their positions on pay equity, violence against women, education, and other women’s rights priorities. Lhota was the only candidate to hesitate when posed the question, “Are you a feminist?” responding that he really hadn’t thought about it before.
