Confronting Sexual Harassment: Women’s Equality Act
Serious questions have emerged about how sexual harassment complaints in the NYS Assembly have been handled by Speaker Sheldon Silver’s office. Silver needs to stop sexual harassment in the Assembly, and he can further help the women of the state by closing the loophole that exempts 60 percent of businesses from state sexual harassment laws. There is a live bill that would do this now. The Women’s Equality Act has already passed in the Senate, and passed as as an omnibus bill in the Assembly.
