O’Reilly’s Out, But It’s Not Over
NOW Calls for Fox Board of Directors to End Culture of Sexual Harassment
Fox News made the right call by firing O’Reilly for his long record of sexual harassment, but our fight to protect women from hostile working conditions does not stop with O’Reilly.
On April 20th, NOW New York protested outside of 21st Century Fox after delivering an open letter to the Board of Directors. The protest specifically targeted the 21st Century Fox board of directors as they prepared to meet that day. NOW-NY President Sonia Ossorio said, “Knowing Bill O’Reilly will never be able to walk through Fox News’ doors and sexually harass a Fox employee is a relief, but the board doesn’t deserve a gold star for firing a sexual harasser they’ve protected for years. Sexual harassment shouldn’t be a line item in the budget, but real reform should be.”
O’Reilly is not out because Fox News changed its ways on sexual harassment – O’Reilly is out because of YOU: the survivors who spoke out, the women and men who came forward to protest, the advocates who organized and the advertisers who fled. He’s out because the settlements were made public. We must keep the pressure on.

Learn more about Fox’s record on sexual harassment: Fox News fired former CEO Roger Ailes last July after numerous women accused him of sexual assault—and yet the toxic culture of misogyny and harassment persisted at FOX, enabling O’Reilly to keep his job until this week. Check out this video of the open displays of sexism on Fox News.
Tell 21st Century Fox Board of Directors: end rampant culture of sexual harassment.
1) Write a letter to the Board of Directors to tell them that firing Bill O’Reilly isn’t enough – they need to address the sexist culture that is perpetuated by Fox News.

Bill O’Reilly may be gone, but Fox News has done nothing to address the culture they have perpetuated that protects abusers and shames victims of sexual harassment.
According to a study, 1 in 3 women have been sexually harassed at work. We are collecting stories to demonstrate the epidemic of sexual harassment, and to raise our voices to fight back.
