2018 Pride March: “Defiantly Different”
After more than a year of the Trump administration legitimizing discrimination against the LGBQT community and an historic escalation of hate crimes, the 2018 annual NYC Pride March is gearing up to be a spectacular event with the theme, “Defiantly Different” — and NOW-NYC is proud to participate! We will be there to march in solidarity to show that New Yorkers are unified to fight for the rights, equality and dignity for all!
This year’s theme celebrates the rallying cry of generations who laid the groundwork for equality, the next wave of creative thinkers prepared to score their own trails, and each distinctive individual in between.
This year’s Grand Marshalls:
- Billie Jean King is a sports icon and a champion for social change and equality
- Lambda Legal is the oldest and largest national legal organization whose mission is to achieve the full recognition of the civil rights of multiple communities
- Tyler Ford is an award-winning agender advocate, writer, and speaker
- Kenita Placide is OutRight Action International’s Caribbean-based Advisor and the Executive Director of the Eastern Caribbean Alliance for Diversity and Equality (ECADE)
