Lobby Day to End Child Marriage
In New York, it is legal for 14-year-old girls to be married to adult men of any age. In fact, 85% of child marriages fall into this category. This must stop. Closing the loopholes in our state law to end child marriage will help prevent coerced or forced marriages; reduce violence against girls; and align state laws with research from the U.S. and worldwide that reveal the harms of child marriage.
