NOW Women’s Town Hall: Long Island
Representative Peter King has evaded meeting with his constituents for the better part of a decade, opting most recently for a telephone Town Hall with previously selected questions (mostly from male supporters).
Long Island Women have invited Representative King to meet with us to discuss policies that directly impact women in our communities. He has not responded.

The National Organization for Women-New York, along with New York’s 2nd District Democrats and Action Together Long Island, is hosting a Women’s Town Hall so that women and their allies can share their stories and ask questions.
This is part of a series of Town Halls that NOW New York is organizing across the state to protect the vital programs of the threatened Violence Against Women Act and to highlight the issues that impact the lives of women and girls.
Congressman King has voted against paid family leave, against the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, against funding family planning in US international aid, and against health coverage that provides abortion. He voted to allow coal companies to dump waste into our streams, he supports the ICE raids that are tearing families apart, and he was leaning to vote yes on the American Health Care Act, which would have left 74,000 of his constituents without health insurance.
