May 12, 2016 – New York, NY–The National NOW PAC endorses Anna Thorne-Holst to represent New York’s 1st Congressional District in Eastern Long Island in the U.S. House of Representatives. A devoted public servant and long-time advocate for women, Ms. Throne-Holst has a strong track record of leadership in education, expanding opportunities for low-income families and for children with special learning needs, and strengthening the efficiency of local government.

East End NOW President, Marilyn Fitterman, says, “Anna Throne-Holst is two thumbs up on all women’s issues–from choice to equal pay to every issue that calls for fairness and equity. Her years in political office in Southampton have proven that. She is a great leader and will be an asset to Congress.”

Sonia Ossorio, President of NOW New York State says, “We are confident that Anna Throne-Holst will fight for the rights of women in Congress. She emphatically supports abortion access and women’s reproductive rights, ending violence against women, and advancing women’s economic justice. Within her own community, Anna Throne-Holst has been a rock star advocate for children and working families. We are thrilled to support her candidacy.”

The National Organization for Women is the nation’s largest organization working to advance women’s rights and improve women’s lives. NOW New York aims to protect and promote reproductive justice, secure workplace equality, combat racism and homophobia, and end discrimination and violence against all women.
