Take Action – Protect Women’s Healthcare
After years of fighting for the Affordable Care Act, Trump is threatening to cut-off access to comprehensive and affordable healthcare. The “alternative” plan Republicans have proposed would defund Planned Parenthood, prevent domestic violence survivors from gaining access to medical help, and force millions of women to lose health insurance coverage.
Republican John Shimkus did not seem to understand how health insurance worked, actually questioning: “What about men having to purchase prenatal care?” Seriously?
Call your Member of Congress NOW and tell them that you won’t stand for any healthcare legislation that does not protect women’s health.
Here’s what you can say:
Hello, My name is _____ and I live in _____. As a constituent, I want to ensure that they will reject the proposed replacement of the Affordable Care Act. This proposal will dramatically reduce women’s access to comprehensive healthcare, including reproductive healthcare, and would cause millions of Americans to lose coverage.

Get the Lowdown, Trump Week #8:
- Women’s March organizers were arrested during the Day Without Women NYC rally. These women leaders continue to demonstrate their courage in the fight against the Trump administration – we are empowered.
- GOP lawmakers released an “alternative” to the Affordable Care Act – not surprisingly, it negatively harms women who need to access contraceptive and abortion care.
- Trump signed a revised travel ban. The ban still blocks individuals from Muslim-majority countries and refugees from entering the U.S.
On a more positive note:
- Members of Congress are standing up for transgender individuals in the wake of Trump’s retractions: “We Are With You.”
