National Organization for Women & Feminist Majority Launch Florida Bus Tour to Elect Ms. President NOW

Women’s Rights Leaders Terry O’Neill, Eleanor Smeal, Cecile Richards and Wendy Davis Rally to Energize Millennial & Women Voters in Key State of Florida

November 5, 2016 – The National Organization for Women (NOW) and Feminist Majority will rally to get out the vote for Hillary and feminists down the ballot in three key cities along the critical I-4 corridor. With a historic presidency on the line and Donald Trump’s egregious track record on women, NOW President Terry O’Neill and Feminist Majority President Eleanor Smeal will work to mobilize women voters as Election Day approaches. Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards and former Texas State Senator Wendy Davis will also join this GOTV bus tour.

NOW President Terry O’Neill says, “Florida will be crucial in this election; the stakes for women have never been higher. We are determined to elect not just a woman president, but Hillary Clinton – a proud feminist who has fought for decades to achieve equality.”

Feminist Majority President Eleanor Smeal says, “As we travel through Florida, I am struck by the depth of support for Hillary. Thousands of volunteers, women and men – especially women – are volunteering night and day to get her elected. I am inspired by their determination to make history. They are fueled by outrage over Trump’s misogyny and his racist and xenophobic attacks – and by Hillary’s positive, inclusive policies for progressive feminist change.”

The GOTV bus tour will make stops in Tampa, Kissimmee, and Orlando, amplifying on-the-ground efforts to ensure a win for Hillary and to make the case against Donald Trump.

NOW Florida President Terry Sanders says, “It is up to the women in Florida to make the election of Hillary Clinton happen. She is the leader we need to keep the protections that women deserve as a priority and improve the lives of all Americans.”

NOW NY President Sonia Ossorio says, “On Tuesday, we can either make history, or we can make the biggest mistake in history. Every issue that matters to women is on the ballot in this election, and that’s why we need to ensure Hillary wins. We have fought too long and too hard to elect a president who will set us back decades.”

These feminist leaders for Hillary will be joined at stops across the state by Nancy Hogshead-Makar, Olympic Gold-Medalist & Women & Girls in Sports Advocate; Anastasia Somoza, Disability Rights Advocate; Congresswoman Kathy Castor; Congresswoman Gwen Moore; State Senator and Congressional Candidate Darren Soto; Congressional Candidate and Chief Val Demings; and Congressional Candidate Stephanie Murphy.
