Blog / May 21, 2020

Thank you to all who joined Suppressed: The Fight to Vote!

Here’s How To Take Action Now

Suppressed: The Fight to Vote is a powerful film that highlights the urgency for us to act. We must protect our elections and unite to end the discriminatory and racist voter suppression that persists. We must take action to Grab Trump by the Ballot.

Watch the film again and learn more about what you can do to stop voter suppression.

Please respond to our quick survey about the event, and RSVP for next week’s Activist Power Hour: “Real Dialogue is Possible,” with special guest Eve Pearlman, next Wednesday, May 27th, 12pm – 1pm.

Here’s what else you can do:

Get Ready to Vote in NY: Federal & State Primary, Tues. June 23rd.

Governor Cuomo issued an executive order so that an absentee ballot application will be sent to all registered voters in New York State. This application must be returned to secure your mail-in ballot. You can also submit a form online to request your ballot. Ballots must be postmarked by June 22nd and received by June 30th. Send early!

OUR NEXT ACTIVIST POWER HOUR: WEDNESDAY, MAY 27TH, 12PM – 1PM

Finding ways to bridge today’s polarizing climate is essential to a strong democracy. We can all benefit from learning how to get better at having tough conversations in our own lives.

Guest Speaker, Eve Pearlman will join us in conversation. She is a journalist and expert who has been studying how to have difficult conversations with people who disagree. As activists and advocates, learning this skill is what helps us get our issues heard and our candidates elected!
