Join Us In Thanking The Women Who Ran
Women are leading the resistance across the country, and one way they are fighting back is by stepping up to run for elected office. Win or lose, NOW-NYC is proud to have supported a cadre of strong women candidates dedicated to advancing equality and justice for women and girls.
At the start of this year, Speaker Mark-Viverito and a number of women leaders in the
City Council united to launch 21 in ’21 – a campaign to substantially increase women’s representation by 2021. Last month, the Women’s Caucus released a report about women’s under-representation in government and some of the barriers and challenges unique to changing this.
NOW-NYC is committed to supporting this change (and to keeping anti-women leaders out of office, too.) If you want to join us to help more women get elected – here are three things you can do right now:
- Send a thank you email or tweet to the women who ran!
- Volunteer in support of women’s rights candidates, sign up here.
- Become a member. Every NOW-NYC membership directly supports our work to advance women leaders, (and you get our Voter Guide, too).
