Women, overall, still make only 80 cents for every dollar that men do, and the gap is far greater for women of color. A full two-thirds of minimum wage workers are women. Despite earning less, women still take on a disproportionate amount of the unpaid labor of child care and/or elder care. As we slowly emerge from this pandemic, economic hardship is compounded by higher unemployment rates and staggering student debt.
We need fair economic policies – at home and at work.
Individuals need access to fair workplaces and clear information on how to protect and strengthen their financial health. Women and gender non-conforming people that face discrimination or sexual harassment in the workplace need access to sound and unbiased information to protect their job security.
