Here’s what you can say:

I’m asking you, as Mayor, to make sure that our City is taking the lead on reducing and preventing sexual assault. This means:

  1. Go further in holding the NYPD accountable to the DOI report recommendations to fully staff, train, and fund the NYPD’s Special Victims Division (SVD)
  2. Ensure that the NYPD has the culture and communications systems in place so that all sexual assault victims are treated with respect and reports are pursued thoroughly.
  3. Launch a public service campaign to shift social attitudes and take action to invest in prevention efforts in communities and schools citywide.
