NOW-NY showed up in force in D.C. and stood with survivors of human trafficking who testified to the harms of the sex industry and the real damage it causes to individuals and families. After hearing from survivors at the marathon hearing, the D.C. Council’s Judiciary and Public Safety Committee abandoned the proposal.

"We have identified the serial predators who are rich and powerful. There are thousands more out there. And the people who allow it to happen, particularly in workplaces or places of worship, putting the spotlight on them, that's the next phase of 'Me Too,'" says president of NOW-NYC Sonia Ossorio.
